Sri Swamini Saralananda
Swamini Saralananda is one of Swami Dayananda’s senior-most disciples; she was born and raised in Hawaii where she completed a Bachelors degree in Dance but found her way to a better interest in Yoga. From 1972-75 she studied in India under the traditional scholar and teacher, Swami Dayananda Sarasvati, at which point her study was well beyond hatha yoga, it was a rigorous three year course in Vedanta and Sanskrit. Swami Dayananda is the founder of Arsha Vidya Pitham and Gurukulam an Insitution for Vedanta and Sanskrit, Vedanta being the ancient wisdom tradition of India for teaching Inquiry into the Self as taught in the Upanisads and Bhagavad Gita.
After her course of study in India, Swamini returned to Hawaii and continued graduate studies in Sanskrit and taught classes in Vedanta. When Swami Dayananda came to California in 1979-82 to teach the same three year course for Western students, she was on the teaching staff there. Since then she has traveled back and forth to India for continuing studies, spending a sum total of eleven years in India. She has traveled all over US and in Canada and Europe, giving public lectures on Vedanta. She has also served for a sum total of eight years as one of the residential teaching staff at the Pennsylvania Gurukulam.
Swamini also holds a Masters degree in Counseling and prior to receiving Sannyasa ( the formal order of renunciation ) she had a private Counseling practice in Portland, Oregon. Sri Dhira Chaitanya
Sri Dhira Chaitanya has been a student of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati since his childhood and attended the Vedanta courses conducted by Pujya Swamiji in Mumbai, (76-78) and Saylorsburg (87-88). He is the co-author of the 10-year Vedic Heritage Teaching Program for children which is currently being used in schools in India and in communities all over the world, and is translated into Tamil, Hindi and Gujarati. Having a professional background as a Child Psychiatrist-Physician, he is uniquely able to explore the intersections and points of departure of Psychology and Vedanta and is able to understand and respond to cross cultural issues of adults and children alike. Radha (Carol Whitfield, Ph.D.)
During the 1970s, Radha studied Advaita Vedanta and Sanskrit with Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Since her return from India, she has taught Vedanta extensively on both coasts and was one of the founders and the administrative manager of Sandeepany West, Institute for the Study of Vedanta and Sanskrit, located in Piercy, California, and later, of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Institute for the Study of Advaita Vedanta and Sanskrit, in Pennsylvania. She currently teaches Advaita Vedanta and Sanskrit in California. She is a faculty member of the East West Psychology Department at the California Institute of Integral Studies, where she teaches Advaitia Vedanta and Spiritual Counseling. She is a Jungian-oriented clinical psychologist in priviate practice in Berkeley, California. One of her interests is the synthesis of Western psychology and Eastern spirituality. Janani Cleary studied Sanskrt and Vedanta at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, in Mumbai, with Swami Dayananda from 1975 to 1978. Since her return to the US she has been teaching Vedanta classes wherever the opportunities arise. She currently resides in South Florida.

Sri Vijay Kapoor took Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati as his guru at a family camp the very first year Swamiji came to the US. Later, Sri Kapoor was one of the pioneers to establish the 2 ½ year course taught by Pujya Swamiji in Piercy, California, started in 1979. To attend this course, he left his job as a Marketing Manager for the Hewlett-Packard Company and moved his entire family to live in Piercy. Pujya Swamiji asked Sri Kapoor to be the Secretary for the Arsha Vidya Pitham at its inception, and he is still serving in that capacity today.
