Introduction to Jyotiṣa with Rakesh Sharma
August 17 @ 9:00 am - August 18 @ 5:00 pm
Saturday, August 17th to Sunday August 18th, 2019
Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati vision was to teach Vedanta and also Vedanga at Arsha Vidya as per his letter on August 24th, 1989, where he states that “I like the idea of teaching Indian Astrology at Gurukulam”. Based on his vision, Arsha Vidya started organizing Jyotish Workshop and recently we had 25th year of Jyotish teaching at Gurukulam.
Understanding the gist of Jyotish makes one understand the laws of Karmas and understand the unknowns in one’s life. It also gives you the knowledge about oneself and also about people around you, as one’s chart indicates the qualities of one’s siblings, parents, children etc.
Rakesh Sharma has been volunteering with Arsha Vidya since the day Arsha Vidya started & has been a board member for many years. He taught the first class on Jyotish when Pujya Swamiji wrote a letter to him in 1989. He has learned Jyotish as a part of a Hobby Club at IIT Kanpur, which was started started as a reaction to the letter 186 leading Scientists of the world wrote against Astrology.
Jyotish is the eyes of the Vedas and it is part of Vedic culture from the very beginning. In Mahabharata, Karna told Bhagawan Sri Krishna about the the planetary positions at the time of the war. So in this Seminar we will discuss the Vedantic view of Jyotish as how the free will is also part of Jyotish. We will learn the basics of a chart, houses, planets, Nakshatra, Panchang, Natal Chart etc. No prior knowledge of Jyotish is necessary.
Registration for the two days course $125, which is to be paid to Arsha Vidya. Please call Vimala: 570-992-2339 Ext 210. For more information: Rakesh Sharma 917.299.4128 email@example.com www.jyotish.com. Class will start at 8.30 am on August 17th up to 4pm Sunday, August 18th.
