Swami Viditatmananda will unfold the vision of Vedanta and show how there is a need to reverse the usual process of life, in which our
sense of limitation and inadequacy drives us to seek happiness and fulfillment outside of ourselves. The universal human problem
of feeling limited and inadequate has only one permanent solution: gaining self acceptance through a right understanding of the wholeness that is our nature. Fully assimilating this solution requires a certain type of mind, which is developed through a
process of inner growth. Swamiji describes this process as “living intelligently.”
Bhāgavatam 11.2.44-55 Bhaktalakṣaṇam
The importance of bhakti in a human life cannot be overemphasized. For one who is pursuing knowledge of Īśvara, it is essential. The vision of oneness is not possible without appreciation of Īśvara. To help us cultivate bhakti, Srimad Bhāgavatam tells us in detail
what constitutes bhakti. How does a bhakta see Īśvara, the world, and himself; what is his vision, his understanding; what is his
inner life; and how do these express in his behavior and activities? All this will be unfolded by Swamiji through these verses, which have many parallels to verses in the Bhagavad Gītā.
