Weekend Vedānta Course
June 7 @ 8:00 pm - June 9 @ 1:00 pm UTC-5
Topic: Manīṣā pañcakam
with Swamini Paraprajnananda
These five verses, attributed to Ᾱdi Śaṅkarācārya, are a complete unfoldment of Vedānta. Using the Upaniṣad methods of drawing on one’s own experience as a waker, dreamer and sleeper, and on our understanding of a cause being nonseparate from its effect, these verses reveal the nondual reality that is all there is, that is oneself. The verses can be traced to Upaniṣad vᾱkyas, with the final conclusion being sa yo . . . brahma veda brahmaiva bhavati, “The one who knows Brahman is Brahman,” (Mu.U. 3.2.9).
