SUMMARY:2025 Two-Week Bhashyam Course with Swami Sakshatkrtananda
DESCRIPTION:IN-PERSON ONLY (no live streaming)\nThis course will also not be recorded. \nTOPICS:\nBrhadãranyaka Upanishad 4.3\, Jyotirbrahmana ~ Swami Sakshatkrtananda\nKena Upanishad with Bhashyam ~ Swami Muktatmananda \nTEACHER: \nREGISTRATION:\nFor in-person participation\, you can register online HERE.\nOr contact Karthik Ramagopal: avg.karthikr@gmail.com \nONLINE PARTICIPATION is not available for this course. \nDESCRIPTION:\nBrhadãranyaka Upanishad 4.3\, Jyotirbrahmana\nThis section of the Upanishad has as its topic the jyoti\, light\, which illumines all of our thoughts and actions. It is framed by a dialogue between Sage Yajñavalkya and King Janaka in which Janaka begins by asking\, “What serves as the light for a person?” The resulting discussion gradually increases in subtlety as Yajñavalkya discusses the three states of waking\, dream\, and deep sleep\, and how the light of consciousness manifests in each state. Adi Shankara’s bhashyam here is a masterpiece. \nKena Upanishad with Bhashyam\nLike all upanishads\, Kena Upanishad is in the form of a dialog between teacher and student. Neither is named here\, and therefore the name of the text is taken from the first question: kena isitam patati presitam manah?” Willed by whom or in whose presence does the mind land upon its objects?” This question sets the stage for an exploration of the witnessing consciousness behind the mind\, which is famously referred to as the “eye of the eye” and the “ear of the ear.” Swami Muktatmananda will be unfolding this upanishad based upon the commentary of Sri Adi Shankaracharya.\n \nCOURSE SCHEDULE:\nAll times are Eastern Time (ET) \nWednesday\, July 9\n8:00-9:00 pm Orientation and Satsang with Swami Muktatmananda \nThursday\, July 10\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:00am-12:00pm Guru Purnima Puja and talks on YouTube\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nFriday\, July 11\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n \nSaturday/Sunday ~ July 12/13\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nMonday\, July 14\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n8:00-9:00 pm Satsang Q&A with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nTuesday\, July 15\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n8:00-9:00 pm Satsang Q&A with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nWednesday\, July 16\n7:15-8:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nThurs/Fri\, July 17/18\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nSaturday/Sunday ~ July 19/20\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nMonday\, July 21\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n4:00-5:00pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n8:00-9:00 pm Satsang Q&A with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nTuesday\, July 22\n9:15-10:15 am Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30 pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n8:00-9:00 pm Satsang Q&A with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji \nWednesday\, July 23\n9:15-10:15 am Kena Upanishad with Swami Muktatmanandaji\n11:00am-12:00pm Brihadaranyaka Upanishad with Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n12:00pm Gurudakshina \nLOCATION:\nArsha Vidya Gurukulam\n651 Route 115\nSaylorsburg\, Pennsylvania

SUMMARY:2025 Family Vedanta Course 1
DESCRIPTION:In-Person Only (no live streaming) \nTOPICS and TEACHERS: \n“Where is happiness?” with Swami Sakshatkrtananda\nThe second chapter of Taittiriya Upanishad\, called the brahmanandavalli\, includes a fascinating analysis of the degrees of experienced or reflected happiness\, starting with human happiness and extending up to the happiness enjoyed by Brahmaji\, the creator. It then tells how the wise person comes to understand the truth of the self as the very source of all happiness\, thereby overcoming the sense of separation from the whole and becoming free from the sense of limitation. These classes will not be recorded or live-streamed.\n\nAparokshanubhuti\, verses 126-144 with Swami Muktatmananda\nAparokshanubhuti is a prakarana-grantha\, a treatise of Vedanta\, which covers all aspects of Vedanta\, beginning from the adhikari\, one who is a fit student\, to the jivanmukta\, one who is liberated while living. In a continuation of the previous year’s course\, Swamiji will discuss verses dealing with contemplation\, samadhi\, on the reality of the subject and object\, and how the wise person should always carefully think of the imperceptible\, the tangible\, and this entire universe as being of the nature of consciousness\, which is one’s own self.\nAparokshanubhuti Text \nREGISTRATION:\nFor in-person participation\, register online HERE.\nor write to avg.karthikr@gmail.com \nThis course will not be available online. \nSCHEDULE: \nAll Times Are Eastern Time ET (UTC-4) \nSaturday\, July 26\n8:00-8:15pm Orientation with Karthik Ramagopal\n8:15-9:00pm Satsang Q&A \nSunday-Thursday\, July 27 – July 31\n9:15-10:15am Where Is Happiness? ~ Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm Aparokshanubhuti ~ Swami Muktatmanandaji\n5:30-6:30pm Where Is Happiness? ~ Swami Sakshatkrtanandaji\n8:00-9:00pm Satsang Q&A (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday only)\n8:00-9:00pm THURSDAY ONLY: Youth Learning Presentation Program \nFriday\, August 1\n9:15-10:15am Aparokshanubhuti ~ Swami Muktatmanandaji\n11:15am-12:15pm “Where Is Happiness?” ~ Swami SakshatkrtanandaJI\n12:00pm Gurudakshina
