Dr. V. Swaminathan has been a student of Pūjya Swami Dayananda Saraswati and of the other revered ācāryas of the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam. He collected 365 quotes of Pūjya Swamiji and published them as “Day after day with Swami Dayananda Saraswati.” In addition, he edited two booklets, “Satyam and Mithya” and “What you love is the pleased self,” that are based on Pūjya Swamiji’s talks. He has been teaching online Bhagavad Gita, Upanishad and other Vedānta classes.
Dr. Swaminathan has been conducting the annual Thirumurai awareness program in support of the Odhuvar project initiated by Pūjya Swamiji in 2005 and to raise awareness of the rich tradition of singing the Thevārams and Prabandhams. He has a deep interest in Carnatic music and in particular, enquiring into the spiritual and philosophical content of the kritis of the great vāggeyakāras of the tradition. He has composed more than 100 songs in Sanskrit and Tamil. He is an ardent devotee of Kāñcī Paramācārya and has penned articles on Periyavā’s inimitable style of inquiry of the śāstras. Dr. Swaminathan is a retired scientist.
