“Where is happiness?” with Swami Sakshatkrtananda
The second chapter of Taittiriya Upanishad, called the brahmanandavalli, includes a fascinating analysis of the degrees of experienced or reflected happiness, starting with human happiness and extending up to the happiness enjoyed by Brahmaji, the creator. It then tells how the wise person comes to understand the truth of the self as the very source of all happiness, thereby overcoming the sense of separation from the whole and becoming free from the sense of limitation. These classes will not be recorded or live-streamed.
Aparokshanubhuti, verses 126-144 with Swami Muktatmananda
Aparokshanubhuti is a prakarana-grantha, a treatise of Vedanta, which covers all aspects of Vedanta, beginning from the adhikari, one who is a fit student, to the jivanmukta, one who is liberated while living. In a continuation of the previous year’s course, Swamiji will discuss verses dealing with contemplation, samadhi, on the reality of the subject and object, and how the wise person should always carefully think of the imperceptible, the tangible, and this entire universe as being of the nature of consciousness, which is one’s own self.
