COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In chapter 14 of the Bhagavad Gitã, Lord Krishna provides a thorough and detailed description of sattva, rajas, and tamas, the three gunas or qualities found in nature and in each individual. People generally identify with these gunas, taking them to be the self. This identification is due to ignorance and leads to samsara, a life of becoming and suffering. The solution is knowing that the self transcends the gunas. Swaminiji unfolds the characteristics of these three gunas and shows how we can free ourselves from them through knowledge.
